With softFlow therapy, a constant, warm and moist air flow, combined with oxygen if necessary, is applied to the patient’s nose through a thin nasal cannula (applicator). This generally leads to an improvement in ventilation. Therapy with softFlow shows a high level of therapy acceptance with excellent therapeutic success. There is currently a range of evidence and clinical findings that therapy with softFlow actually:
supports insufficient breathing and shows clinical benefits
brings improved elimination of CO2
promotes a reduction in functional dead space
supports and relieves the respiratory muscle pump
can be an alternative to NIV in hypercapnic COPD patients
The findings presented recommend softFlow therapy in particular as a possible therapy option for further reducing mechanical respiratory support or for patients who cannot tolerate conventional mask ventilation. The precision of the flow, even with the smallest flow volumes, means that it can be used safely even with our youngest patients.
Benefits of softFlow therapy
from clinic to home care with just one device
precise flow regulation even at smallest flow rates
continuous adjustment of the flow rate
therapy without side effects
no interruption of therapy when eating/drinking or medication intake necessary
high therapy acceptance due to comfortable, mask-free therapy
bacterial filter between device and patient reduces the risk of cross-contamination
cost-efficient, quick change between patients possible
variable use from premature babies to adults
mobile application for up to 60 minutes thanks to portable battery
condensate-free thanks to heated applicator from the device to the nasal cannula
stable, precise flow during inspiration and expiration
